Friday Five: Avengers Assemble!

Welcome to the Friday Five! Each week we help you get to know us a little better with the help of a nifty Top 5 list! This weeks topic: AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!
 

 
The Avengers is the ultimate super hero team. You can argue for the Justice League all you want, but they just aren’t The Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! Marvel just started running it’s Avengers vs. X-Men summer event, and to commemorate this epic story we’re assembling our own Avengers teams! The one rule we had is that each avenger must be, or must have been, a member of the Avengers at any given time. We have some really cool results! Check them out below, and let us know who would be in your ideal Avengers team in the comments at the bottom!
 
 

Chris

Man, the Avengers have a huge history and tons of past members that would make any team great. Picking 5 heroes to fill out a team is a tough one.
 

1. Spider-Man – Spidey has got to be on the list, he’s one of the most prominent heroes in the marvel roster for a reason.
2. Winter Soldier – Captain America is cool and all, Steve Rogers makes a good leader, but Bucky as Winter Soldier is just a better character. He’s darker and has a crazy past.
3. Black Widow – Who doesn’t want Black Widow on a team?
4. Iron Man – He’s an Original Avenger, he’s a smart ass, and he’s got resources. If you’ve got a super hero team he should probably be on it.
5. Hawkeye – Hawkeye is just a fun character. He’s got no superpowers, or implants, or anything really. He’s just athletic and has an awesome shot. The fact that he keeps up with all these other guys and girls really says something.

 

 
 

Anthony

This list wouldn’t be fun to do if I didn’t choose the most obscure team I could. So here’s my list of 5 characters, which without wikipedia, I never would’ve known were in the Avengers.
 

1. Falcon – “They may have wanted Tim Meadows, but they got the Falcon!“
2. Moon Knight – He just looks cool…
3. War Machine – Unpainted Iron Man, completely bad ass!
4. Living Lightning – You may be asking “Who?!” I have no idea, sounds ridiculous and his real name is Miguel Santos!
5. Venom – Awwwwww Yeah, I picked him, that’s right. Say something! ….

 

 
 

Drootin

Being likely the least versed on comics of the group this one was a little difficult for me. Thankfully there is a handy list of characters who have been in the group at some point or another so here’s my team.
 

1. Wolverine – He’s one of my all time favorite comic characters so he’s an easy choice for my team.
2. Captain America – Gotta go with the Captain. He’s one of the characters most associated with the Avengers so I’ve got to include him.
3. Iron Man – It’s Iron Man, one of the original Avengers, and he’s a total badass.
4. Spider-Man – Another one of my favorite comic characters so I have to throw him in there since he fits the criteria.
5. Forgotten One – Like Anthony’s choice of Living Lightning I’ve never heard of him before looking at this list. But apparently he’s an immortal who has been mistaken for heros such as Hercules and Gilgamesh and has all sorts of powers.

 

 
 

Shahid

 

1. Stingray – He’ll handle the underwater conflicts, because, you know, they happen often.
2. Luke Cage – Because Nicolas Cage is busy starring in poorly written yet oddly entrancing movies.
3. Falcon – Good for recon. Man talks to birds. Similar concept as Aquaman, minus the uselessness.
4. Lionheart – Basically a female Captain America from Britain who fancies a spot tea. What up!
5. Doctor Strange – Cause, frankly, I needs me some Strange.

 

 
 

Walnuts

Well I don’t really read that many comics, so I don’t know that much about each character so I’m just really going to mess around with this one.
 

1. Hawkeye – He is a badass with a bow. The only Avenger on my list that i can say i know and enjoy.
2. Swordsman – Hawkeye’s enemy and a badass with a sword
3. Hercules – The son of zeus… need i say more
4. Beast – He is the fucking man
5. Black Panther – need a token

 

 
 

Eric

And there came a day, a day unlike any other, when Earth’s mightiest heroes and heroines found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, the Avengers were born—to fight the foes no single super hero could withstand! Through the years, their roster has prospered, changing many times, but their glory has never been denied! Heed the call, then—for now, the Avengers Assemble!
 

1. Spider-Man – He’s a hero like no other. He will stop at nothing to do what’s right. Spider-Man would be the leader of my avengers team. He also covers the seemingly mandatory scientist role in the Avengers team.
2. Wolverine – Every Avengers team need’s that jerk that won’t listen to anyone, and Wolverine would be my choice here. It also helps that him and Spider-Man tend to find themselves in some hilarious situations!
3. Thing – When the villain hits hard, the Avengers bring in someone that hits harder! It’s Clobberin’ Time!
4. Black Widow – What’s an Avengers team without a super hot spy? Not an Avengers team, that’s what!
5. Ms. Marvel – With enhanced strength, speed, and flight, Ms. Marvel can do it all. She’d make a great addition to the team.
