DC Changing Up Lantern Creative Teams

News broke yesterday that long time Green Lantern writer Geoff Johns was stepping down from corps this May to focus on his duties with the Justice League. This was pretty big news for DC fans, Johns has been writing the series since 2004 has covered the biggest story lines in those 9 years.

The thing that hasn’t made as much of an impact is that Johns departure has started a bit of a domino effect, with every Lantern Corp related book changing teams. May will see the release of the final issues for Peter Tomasi and Fernando Pasarin on Green Lantern Corps, Tony Bedard on New Gardians, and Peter Milligan on Red Lanterns. DC has not yet released who will be taking over these books. This could just be the beginning of a Marvel NOW! type situation, with other series to follow with creative changes. Obviously that’s just speculation, but you never know. It’s fairly certain to say Johns will still be doing Justice League and at least for the time being he’s sticking with Aquaman too. As a Batman fan I just hope Tomasi doesn’t leave Batman and Robin too.
