Games You (Probably) Should Have Played – E

GYPSHP_E

We can finally say that Next Generation in gaming is in full swing with the release of the final 2 entries in console war in just about a months time. To commemorate this event we’ve decided to take a look back at all of our favorite games, in alphabetical order, across every generation. We’re calling this the Games You (Probably) Should Have Played.

Some of our choices will be mainstream titles, some will be indie games that you’ve probably never heard of. A handful of these selections will be older then you, while others are younger than your car. All that matters is that in some way we feel that these games are worth playing. So come along for the ride, as we move into game that start with “E”. Don’t forget to tell us what your favorites are in the comments below!

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (Atari 2600 – 1982)
I’m going a little different with this one. So far all my picks are games you should play because they’re awesome. This isn’t one of those, but you should still play E.T. because it’s history, and people should understand how terrible it is so it never happens again. This is much the same with Superman 64, the game is broken and unplayable. On the brightside if you’re at a party and happen to be able to set this up, a group of friends trying to climb out of a pit can actually be pretty amusing.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The (PS3, 360, PC – 2011)
Every game in this series pushes the genre further with Skyrim being the buildup from 4 previous games. The world was huge taking nearly 40 real world minutes to cross on foot. The random events were numerous, helping to immerse you in the beautiful landscape. The gameplay had been refined from a confusing mess, to a streamlined masterpiece. Everything about this game was fantastic. And after 200+ hours in the game, there’s still so much more to do.
