Welcome to the Friday Five! Each week we help you get to know our writers with the help of a top 5 list! This weeks category: Favorite Sword Wielding Characters!
This week on the Friday Five we decided on picking our Favorite Sword Wielding Characters. Plenty of video game picks here, but some interesting ones from tv, movies, anime, and books too! So check it out and let us know your top five in the comments!
Chris
- Yoda – Star Wars – I feel like this doesn’t even need explaining.
- Kenshin – Rurouni Kenshin – He killed a ton of people then decided not to and just proceeded to cripple them with a reversed blade sword. That’s pretty fun.
- Auron – Final Fantasy X – Auron is the best character in Final Fantasy X hands down. His only drawback is he can’t be used on flying / ranged enemies. But once those fuckers are close he can wreck them.
- Leonardo – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – He’s a damn Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that’s all that matters.
- Jon Snow – Song of Ice and Fire – While he doesn’t often fight, Jon Snow is one of the more interesting characters on Game of Thrones, and also has a story the most separate from everything else.

Eric
- Link – The Legend of Zelda – The Hero of Time! (and other variations)
- Dovahkiin – Skyrim – Technically he can wield anything, but mine used swords and shields… and magic, bows and arrows, two handed axes, maces, daggers, more spells, summons, and the Thu’um.
- Darth Vader – Star Wars – He’s scary, practices an ancient religion that gives him access to sweet ass “magic” powers, AND he has a sword made out of Red Light. RED FUCKING LIGHT!
- Kratos – God of War – While the Blades of “something” (they changed throughout the games) Weren’t swords in the traditional sense, they were still incredi-bad-ass! Kratos also generally had access to some massive, Final Fantasy scale, swords in his adventures.
- War – Darksiders – Fantastic series. I hope it’s not gone forever…
Vogel
- Hiro Nakamura – Heroes
- Link – Legend of Zelda
- Thanos – Legendary Star Lord
- Butch Coolidge – Pulp Fiction
- Arya Stark – Song of Ice and Fire
