Hello, and welcome back to another edition of The Week In Gaming. It has once again been a slow week as it can often be in the summer so this will be another short post, lets take a look.

The News:

  • The biggest news of the week was that Don Mattrick has left Microsoft, where he had been the face of the Xbox in recent years, to become CEO at Zynga. This kind of thing isn’t uncommon to happen in the weeks after e3 but seems a little different than other similar moves due to the massive backlash that the XboxOne had received after its unveiling.
  • Killer Is Dead, the next stylish action game by Suda51, will be out August 27 in North America, publisher XSEED said this past week. Suda has made some interesting games, with Killer 7 likely being his best known work. So this could be interesting, I haven’t looked into very much however.
  • Extra 30-minute cut-scene being added to FFX HD? Reports have indicated that SquareEnix has added an extra cut-scene to the end of the credits for the Final Fantasy X HD re-release. It’s unknown what it entails but it will likely add more to the backstory for X-2.
  • Final Fantasy VII was released on Steam last week for $11.99 with full Steam Achievement support. Its a favorite of mine and was the game that got me into RPG’s and I fully recommend playing it if you haven’t.

The new releases:

  • NCAA Football 14 (7/9) – PS3, 360
  • Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection (7/9) – PS3
  • Civilization V: Brave New World (7/9) – PC

The Story So Far. . .
  • One-Quest was founded many millennia ago in a galaxy know as "n00b," by a foundation of Nerds. n00b was a small galaxy ruled by an evil empire, known as the "Hipstars." One-Quest formed with the sole purpose of removing the Hipstar empire from power, and restoring balance to all Nerds...
