Alcatraz Canceled!

It’s been up in the air for a while, but it looks like Fox has finally brought down the hammer on Alcatraz and officially dropped it from their lineup, along with other newcomer The Finder. I didn’t watch The Finder, but Alcatraz was definitely on my weekly watch list.

I knew Alcatraz wasn’t really performing well with the whole ratings thing, but I was hoping that they’d at least give it a short season to closeout the series. Alcatraz could be fairly corny, and predictable, but the last 3 episodes really showed us the true potential of series. There were also a ton of questions left to be answered! At this point we’ll just have to hope that Netflix or Hulu will consider picking this one up, otherwise we’ll never know what happened to agent Madsen and the rest of the 63s…

Also note that Fox canceled one of it’s other scifi dramas this season, Terra Nova. Terra Nova also under performed in the ratings but was a decent show overall. Netflix was on board to pick it up, but decided against it due to high production costs. Fringe will return for 1 more season to close out the series, which is good news for scifi fans, because without Fringe we have nothing else now…

Lastly I want to note that it’s not all Grimm news for TV shows that I watch. See what I did there? The NBC fairy tale/cop drama has been renewed for season 2! So I have at least 1 show to look forward to next season…

is not a boss.
